Microsoft Opens Copilot for Microsoft 365 Up to Small and Medium Businesses

In a significant move, Microsoft has expanded its Copilot for Microsoft 365 plan to cater to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) interested in purchasing between one and 299 seats. This plan can be added to existing Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard subscriptions, allowing customers of Office 365 E3 and E5 to access Copilot for Microsoft 365 without requiring a Microsoft 365 license. One notable distinction from Copilot Pro (consumer) is that Copilot for Microsoft 365 for business includes integration into Microsoft Teams, further enhancing collaborative AI capabilities for business users.

It’s not cheap, at close to £30 a head add-on to existing licenses.

Moreover, individual Microsoft account holders on mobile devices will soon be able to access Copilot through the Microsoft 365 mobile app, with its rollout expected over the next month. In conclusion, the inclusion of generative AI capabilities into Microsoft’s suite of applications marks a significant leap in enhancing productivity and creativity, offering both individual users and businesses advanced AI tools to streamline workflows and innovate.
