128: AWS Storage Gateway Adds Nutanix AHV Support, Expanding Hybrid Cloud Flexibility

AWS has extended its Storage Gateway support to Nutanix’s AHV hypervisor, providing significant new options for hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. Previously focused on VMware and Hyper-V, Storage Gateway can now be deployed on Nutanix AHV hosts, enabling direct integration between on-premises environments and AWS cloud storage. This makes it easier for IT professionals to back up, tier, and migrate workloads to AWS, reducing workflow complexity and supporting cost-effective scaling for archival data.

However, successful adoption requires attention to licensing, network configuration, and AWS’s complex pricing. While not a universal fix, this move streamlines disaster recovery and backup processes for Nutanix users, and brings public and private cloud infrastructures closer together.
